Today, after long preparation time, I am releasing the first publicly available version of the Ya Market. "An online marketplace for the artisans and the communities of the Peruvian Andes", the Ya Market is the first initiative of The Golden Silver Hands; a Social Enterprise that aspires to facilitate the preservation of the Andean arts and the development of modern expressions of them, while at the same time creating opportunities for the local artisans to improve their livelihood by reaching global markets.

A release commonly referred to as a Beta launch, it is made available for testing purposes and for collecting initial feedback from users that have an interest in the project. Any orders placed may not be fulfilled until the first official "live" release. It so happens that I am making this release during my visit to the Machu Picchu Pueblo, so I thought I would accompany this post with a picture for all to enjoy.

At the same time, I'm initiating this Blog where we will be posting anything related to the project; news and announcements, the challenges and successes that we go through, our thoughts about making a Social Enterprise successful, how to get the most out of the functionality that the website provides, and the occasional photography post so that our remote followers can get a glimpse of the environment that we work in and the magnificent mountains called The Andes.

The first "live" release of the marketplace will hopefully follow soon. Meanwhile, you can let us know your thoughts about our endeavor using our feedback form, and you can follow this blog so that you stay informed.
